Human Resource Clerk


1.         Job Function

The Human Resource Clerk is responsible for compiling and maintaining personnel records.  All activities must conform to organizational guidelines and standards and to all legal requirements.

2.         Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1.       Records employee information such as personal data, compensation, benefits, attendance, performance reviews and termination date and reason 

2.       Updates employee files 

3.       Handles queries and provides information to authorized persons 

4.       Performs general clerical duties including but not limited to: photocopying, faxing and mailing 

5.       Prepares, proof reads and edits documents 

6.       Logs and routes correspondence 

7.       Maintains hard copy and electronic filing systems to facilitate easy retrieval and proper record keeping in-keeping with the company’s standards

8.       Gathers and analyzes information for reports 

9.       Handles incoming and outgoing calls according to company’s standards 

10.    Monitors and requisitions stationery and office supplies 

11.   Performs related work as required by the appropriate Authority

4.         Qualifications and Experience

·         5 CXC passes including English and Mathematics

·         Certificate in Human Resource Management or a related field

·         Three (3) years experience in a similar position

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office

5.         Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

·         Strong communication skills

·         Very good organizational and presentation skills

·         Able to work with minimal supervision

·         Strong conceptual, analytical and human relations skills
