Housekeeping Officer

Job Function:

The Housekeeping Officer is responsible for providing janitorial services and maintaining cleanliness of work environment.  All activities must conform to organizational guidelines and standards and to all legal requirements.

Principal duties and Responsibilities

 1.         Cleans examination rooms, offices, lobbies, restrooms, corridors, stairways, lunch room and       other work areas

 

2.         Cleans front of building including railings, carpark etc.


3.         Maintains cleanliness of washrooms by cleaning toilets including sinks, mirrors, countertops etc. and replenishes supplies


4.         Ensures proper disposal of waste by emptying bins twice a day and washing bins at least once a week and whenever necessary


5.         Dusts furniture and equipment, wipes desks, telephones, shelving units, windows, glass doors and cupboards, removes cobwebs and sweeps and mops floors


6.         Deep cleans once a week


7.         Requisitions supplies and maintains stock levels


8.         Notifies management of any repairs or maintenance work to be done


9.         Other related tasks as required

Qualifications and Experience


1.          3 CXC passes including English and Mathematics

2.         One (1) year experience in a similar position

3.         Hospitality training will be an asset


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


1.        Good communication skills

2 .       Able to multi-task

3.       Able to work with little supervision
