Inventory Clerk


Job Description

1.         Job Function

The Inventory Clerk is responsible for receiving and stocking purchased goods and issuing supplies as well as transferring and distributing goods requisitioned.  All activities must conform to organizational guidelines and standards and to all legal requirements.

2.         Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1.     Verifies items received against Purchase Order and Invoice

2.     Examines stock received to verify conformance to specifications noting expiry date

    • Performs monthly expiries of assigned area

3.     Packs and maintains back area shelves daily with all goods received from suppliers

4.     Stores items according to Departmental guidelines e.g. storing older stock to the front to ensure proper rotation of products

5.     Fills orders or issues supplies from stock and distributes supplies to pharmacies and other departments

    • Fills “in-house” requisitions
    • Pulls all PoS goods from the back area to be transferred to retail sites

6.     Reports on adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock

7.     Maintains inventory and other stock records

8.     Moves or transports material or supplies as required and in accordance with established guidelines

9.     Faxes, scans and up-loads invoices, Crisis Lists and Purchase Orders via Xerox and fax machine

10.  Maintains stock levels in chillers and ensures that water coolers are replenished as needed

11.  Conducts random stock checks of the system against the shelf

12.  Performs administrative functions according to departmental standards

13.   Performs related work as directed by the appropriate Authority

4.         Qualifications and Experience

·         5 CXC Level passes including Mathematics and English Language

·         One (1) year experience in a similar position

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office

·         Knowledge of Inventory Software will be an asset
